About Us

Edison Elementary School is a public K-5th grade school in the Alameda Unified School District (AUSD).

Edison Elementary School is a neighborhood school located just a few blocks away from Alameda’s bustling Park Street and Central Avenue shopping and dining district.  With a population of approximately 475 students in grades Kindergarten through fifth and a robust Parent Teacher Association, Edison Elementary School is a thriving and vibrant community.  The staff is made up of highly dedicated individuals who bring years of experience and knowledge to teaching each child at Edison.  Edison Otters are active and hard-working students who contribute to the school community in a number of ways.  Our students strive to uphold the Edison Citizen Agreements and are committed to our Go Green efforts.  Edison’s PTA further enhances the learning environment at Edison with many programs, funding, field trips, technology, classroom materials, and other essential resources.

History of Edison School

Edison  Elementary School has a rich history, as well as a strong and diverse community. Our students come form a variety of backgrounds, traditions and beliefs. This is a strength of our school, and we continually seek to highlight this strength. We strive to create a school where students feel safe and included, and can learn through collaboration and cooperation.
