Principal's Message

November, 2022

Dear Edison Community,

We hope that parents and guardians found the Parent-Teacher conferences useful in informing you as to the progress of your child over the first grading period this year.   If you were unable to and wish to discuss their progress, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher to set an appointment.  Ongoing communication with your child’s teacher is one of the most meaningful things you can do to be actively involved in their education.

Your child’s attendance at school is important to achieving the most from daily instruction at school. While we do not want children who are ill to come to school, it is vitally important that every child attend school every day in order to achieve the best education and secure the maximum resources for our school.  Thanks for your help in working with us to provide the richest educational experience possible for your child through a strong partnership, we can promote the best education possible for your child.

Thank you to those families that join in with volunteer opportunities at school.  We greatly appreciate the support by volunteers in the classrooms, on the yard as Lunch Buddies, as chaperones on field trips, and of course in our PTA, SSC and other councils and committees at the school.  Your involvement is the life blood of the school, as we couldn't do what we do without you!

As we enter the holiday season, we hope that you and your family find yourself happy, healthy and safe.  There is a lot to be thankful for, and at this time of year, the idea of gratitude comes to mind.  So I wanted to take the time to give a big thank you to all the parents and guardians of our students for you active partnership with us in providing a worthwhile learning experience for your child.  I hope that we all enjoy the additional time we will have with our families over the Thanksgiving and Winter breaks.  Take the time to read with your children every day, and enjoy your time together with family and friends.

Sincerely,

Greg Sahakian
